Construction to Re-Start in the Spring

Our bad…We haven’t posted an update since last year. We’ll blame it on winter.

In any case here’s the latest…

After completion of our new water line between Pleasant Valley Road and downtown Markleeville, construction was paused due to winter conditions.

Construction will begin again once temperatures warm up. Construction planned for the spring and summer includes:

  • New water line in Hot Springs Road from west of Pleasant Valley Road to the water treatment plant.
  • A new pump station at the water treatment plant.
  • A pressure reducing station adjacent to Hot Springs Road.
  • Instrumentation improvements at the Pleasant Valley tank.
  • A segment of new water line in Pleasant Valley Road.

As always, we appreciate your feedback.

Feel free to email us at markleevillewatercompany@gmail.com if you have any input or questions.

Enjoy the rest of winter. Here’s hoping for some decent snow…

Installation of New Water Main in Hot Springs and Pleasant Valley Roads

Markleeville Water Company (MWC) is installing new water mains in Hot Springs Road from Montgomery Street to MWC’s treatment plant (located approximately one-half mile west of the intersection of Hot Springs Road & Pleasant Valley Road). MWC is also installing new water mains in Pleasant Valley Road between Pinon Road & the west end of Timber Lane.

Work will be done this summer starting with the segment of Hot Springs Road between Montgomery Street & Pleasant Valley Road. MWC’s contractor for this work is Haen Constructors.

Key Information:

  • Contractor will provide traffic control through active construction in the roadways. Only one lane will be open, and traffic will be flagged through. Watch for closure notifications and plan for extra travel time during construction.
  • Water service will continue during construction, however some interruptions in service are required. Contractor will notify affected customers 72 hours in advance of any interruption in water service.

MWC will post future updates regarding the construction here.
